Beauty of the Garden

I always said I would never plant flowers that needed to be taken up in the fall and replanted in the spring—too much trouble. But last year, I visited someone who had Dahlias in her garden. So beautiful! I decided to try a couple, see how they do, and then toss them in the fall. So I planted them.

I was hooked!

There were blooms galore, and they bloomed like crazy until the fall, when I dug them up and put them in a box in the garage. Then I ordered two more which I happily planted this spring!

The trouble was worth it!

Gardening is like life. You can’t always predict how it will turn out. It will often be a lot of extra work. But it may be worth it. You may have to do some things over. That’s how we learn. Life has surprises at every turn.
